| Vacation - St. Simons Island, GA 06.26.2004 - 07.03.2004
Wow, what a week! Family vacation with the Jolly's (i.e. - my side of the family). As all good things go, this week seemed to fly by. Nonetheless, Hilary and I had a chance to relax on the beach, catch some waves, chill in the pool and have fun with the family. My family goes on this week-long trip each summer, and it is graciously provided by my grandfather on my dad's side. In the past 2 or 3 years, I've been busy, so I've only been able to go a few days of the week and then return. Not that I'm complaining about ONLY a couple days at the beach (some get none...), but man, a week is just a horse of a different color. We celebrated my nephew Alexander's birthday, as well as my sister-in-law Heather's birthday. We launched a 7 foot water rocket from the beach (one of Alexander's gifts from Uncle Ryan), I flew my stunt kite in the evenings, and watched storms coming out over the ocean. Also, we ate a TON OF FOOD. My mom knows how to cook for a crowd, and seeing as how there were at least 15 people at every meal, it was quite a crowd. We also went out for lunch/dinner to a couple places while we were down there, and checked out some local shops at the St. Simons Village/Pier. It was all in all a great place to be in some great weather, with the kind of fellowship that only family can provide. |
